Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: September 5, 2026

These terms govern your use of budge. budge is a spending-awareness tool, not a bank or financial adviser.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these terms. Keep your device and authentication methods secure, provide accurate information, and notify budge through the App Store support channel if you suspect unauthorized access.

Authorized financial connections

You may connect only accounts you own or are authorized to access. By linking an institution, you direct budge and its financial-data provider, Plaid, to retrieve and process the account information needed to provide the features you select. You can disconnect an institution at any time.

Information, not financial advice

budge provides estimates and organization tools for awareness. It does not hold funds, move money, extend credit, execute trades, or provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Confirm balances, transactions, due dates, minimum payments, and statement information with the relevant financial institution before acting.

Acceptable use

  • Do not probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or bypass budge’s authentication, integrity, rate-limit, or access controls.
  • Do not use budge for fraud, unlawful activity, impersonation, unauthorized account access, or infringement of another person’s rights.
  • Do not introduce malicious code or automate access except through an interface budge expressly authorizes.

Third-party services

budge depends on services provided by financial institutions, Plaid, Apple, the identity provider, and infrastructure providers. Their own terms and privacy notices may also apply. budge is not responsible for a third party’s independent service, outage, change, or decision to restrict access.

Availability and accuracy

Financial data may be delayed, duplicated, incomplete, recategorized, or unavailable because institutions and data providers change or correct their records. budge may change, suspend, or discontinue features to protect users, maintain the service, comply with law, or respond to provider changes. Where practical, budge will give advance notice of material changes.

Ending use

You may disconnect accounts, sign out, or initiate account deletion in Quick settings. budge may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risk, legal obligations, or a material violation of these terms. Device-integrity fallback signals are risk inputs and are not intended to permanently block a legitimate user by themselves.

Ownership and feedback

budge and its licensors retain rights in the application, service, design, and software. These terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use budge. If you provide feedback, budge may use it without an obligation to compensate you, while respecting the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, budge is provided “as is” and “as available” without implied warranties. budge is not liable for decisions made from delayed or inaccurate third-party financial data. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, and the final jurisdiction-specific liability, dispute, and governing-law terms must be approved before production launch.

Changes and contact

budge may update these terms as the service evolves. The date above will change, and material changes will receive additional notice when required. Questions can be submitted through the current support contact in budge’s App Store listing.
